The Text Chat test will check whether you're able to connect to the messaging service. This test may take a moment to load up so please be patient.
Should you continue to be stuck on the Text Chat test after re-launching the test and waiting a minute, please click on the "Skip & Continue" button and continue on with the Wizard. At the end of the Wizard, fill out the feedback form with a detailed description of the problem and note any Anti-Virus or Firewall software installed on your computer.
If you've reached this page, it indicates that there was a problem loading a signed applet on your computer. In order for the HorizonMedia System to work on your computer, it will request that you accept a certificate for signed applets. This signed applet provides an added level of security to ensure that no one has altered the Java applet as it is sent from the server.
The signed applet may take up to several minutes to load, depending on the speed of your internet connection and computer. If you did not wait several minutes, please click the RETRY TEST button at the bottom of the HorizonMedia Wizard test page.
If you were not prompted with the certificate, click here.
If you were prompted with the certificate but clicked on the "No" button, click here.
Certificate did not appear
If you were not presented with the certificate to accept the signed applet, this usually indicates that you do not have a supported Java Virtual Machine installed on your computer. Click here for instructions on installing a Java Virtual Machine that will work with signed applets.
Certificate was not accepted
In order to receive audio via your computer, Horizon Wimba signed applets must be allowed to run on your computer. If you chose not to allow Horizon Wimba signed applets, you will need to close all instances of your internet browser and then re-open it to run the Wizard again. When prompted, be sure to allow Horizon Wimba applications to run on your computer.
Note: It's recommended that you choose to "ALWAYS" allow signed applets from Horizon Wimba.
During the HorizonMedia Audio Playback test, HorizonMedia is downloaded and installed on your computer. Once the download and installation is complete, HorizonMedia will load and playback some audio. It may take up to several minutes for the download of HorizonMedia to complete so be sure to allow the progress bar to reach the end.
If the download and installation of HorizonMedia was interrupted before the progress bar completed, click the RETRY TEST button at the bottom of the HorizonMedia Wizard test page.
If the HorizonMedia download completed and you are still do not hear the audio greeting, click here.
During the HorizonMedia audio playback test, you should see the audio client as represented below.
------------Sample Image-----------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------Sample Image------------
The colors in the netbar,
, indicate whether you are connected. If the bars are completely gray, that indicates that the client has not connected to the server.
If the color of the netbar does not change after a couple minutes, it may be due to an internet security application or firewall on your computer. Ensure the file, horizonmedia.exe, is enabled to access the internet through your firewall. For specific instructions, refer to your firewall documentation.
If you heard the audio greeting during the HorizonMedia test but did not hear your own voice, here are some things to check:
- Ensure that you click AND HOLD the talk button when speaking
- Ensure that the microphone is working
- Check that the recording controls are configured properly on the computer
Once you've verified that you are holding down the talk button and have a working microphone, click on your computer's operating system below to configure the recording controls.
